Job Summary:
Fleet Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment within the Company’s fleet. Ensure that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations and company standards.
Essential Job Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Post secondary automotive certification or training preferred. Individual should have a strong automotive and hydraulic background. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics. Welding or fabrication experience a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL a plus. Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. Overtime hours and some Saturdays will be required.
Job Duties:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair company vehicles, including trucks, vans, forklifts, and other plant related vehicles.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records and logs for all fleet equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmission, electrical, brake, suspension, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA safety standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain proper inventory of parts, tools, and fluids necessary for fleet operations.
- Collaborate with plant and logistics teams to schedule repairs without disrupting production or deliveries.
- Support and train equipment operators on proper vehicle use and basic maintenance.
- Perform emergency roadside service calls when necessary.
- Assist with onboarding and inspecting new fleet equipment for compliance and readiness.
