Job Summary:
This individual will provide hands-on leadership for a night-shift team in a steel-products manufacturing facility. The Team Lead supports safe, efficient production; trains employees; monitors quality; and communicates shift needs and issues to supervision.
Hours: Flexible
Training: 1st shift for 3 months
Essential Job Requirements:
Individual should have strong communication skills; the ability to effectively communicate with employees and management is a must. Candidate should have strong product knowledge. Individual should be able to read blue prints and shop orders. They should demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter and have strong leadership skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. Individual should uphold the company’s handbook policies and procedures. Preferred computer knowledge in various dispatch web reports that are necessary for assigned area.
Preferred Skills:
General computer knowledge. Ability to use computer to log shop orders.
Job Duties:
- Lead, train, and support up to six employees to meet safety, quality, and production expectations.
- Assign and communicate daily work priorities, shop orders, and shift expectations.
- Train employees; complete required training documentation
- Enforce company safety policies, PPE requirements, housekeeping standards, and safe work practices.
- Complete first-piece approvals and monitor in-process product quality.
- Identify and report safety, quality, equipment, material, and production issues to the appropriate supervisor or department.
- Assist with assembly, fabrication, material handling, and other production work as needed.
- Communicate production status, open issues, and priorities during shift handoff.
- Maintain a professional, respectful work environment and follow all company policies and procedures.
